What makes a church truly welcoming? It’s not perfect programs or polished events—it’s love. In An Inviting Fellowship, Pastor Spencer reminds us that Christian community is built on Christ alone. He is the cornerstone holding every relationship together.

Through Jesus, strangers become family. In Him, we are no longer outsiders but children of God. John writes, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us.” This love doesn’t just define us—it transforms us. It calls us to reflect the character of Christ in everything we do.

Paul describes this transformation beautifully in Colossians. He says, “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Every day, we get to put on these spiritual clothes. They remind us of who we are—chosen, holy, and dearly loved. Grace always comes before obedience. We love because God first loved us.

This love reshapes how we see others. We begin to view people not as strangers or competitors, but as brothers and sisters in Christ. God’s love binds us together in perfect unity. And when that love rules our hearts, the peace of Christ fills our community.

An inviting fellowship doesn’t happen by accident. It grows through intentional connection—sharing meals, offering forgiveness, and practicing gratitude. Every act of welcome becomes a way to reflect God’s love. Even a simple conversation or shared cup of coffee can make someone feel seen and valued.

The world longs for this kind of love and as followers of Jesus, we are called to extend it. So, be on the lookout. Notice who might feel alone and take one step to invite them in. When we live with open hearts, others encounter the lavish love of God through us.

That’s what it means to be an inviting fellowship—a family shaped by grace, grounded in Christ, and overflowing with love.
