Jesus the Cornerstone

Scripture: Ephesians 2:19–22; 4:4–6 | Date: October 19, 2025

Our world is more connected than ever but lonelier than before. We scroll endlessly, surrounded by people yet unseen and unknown. Deep connection feels rare, but God designed us for meaningful community.

In this sermon, Pastor Spencer explores how Jesus is the cornerstone of true Christian fellowship. Relationships built only on shared interests or opinions eventually crumble. But relationships built on Christ stand strong.

Ephesians reminds us there is “one body and one Spirit.” We are not just individuals gathering for comfort. We are being built together into a spiritual home where God dwells. Jesus is the foundation, the stone that holds everything in place.

The early church faced division between Jews and Gentiles. But Paul declared that through Christ, the walls separating people have been torn down. In Him, we are no longer strangers or outsiders. We are fellow citizens, members of one household—God’s family.

This unity is not uniformity. It’s diverse people joined by a shared Savior. When we center on Jesus, trust grows, forgiveness flows, and fellowship deepens. Christian community becomes more than attendance—it becomes a shared life.

We live in a culture that celebrates independence and mobility. Yet Jesus calls us to stay connected, to build lives together on His love. True discipleship happens when we serve, forgive, and encourage one another.

Fostering Christ-centered fellowship begins with simple steps: invite someone to a meal, join a small group, or notice the person on the fringe. Each act builds spiritual connection.

When Jesus is the cornerstone, our lives become a living temple—strong, united, and full of His Spirit. The world needs this kind of fellowship now more than ever. Let’s build on the only foundation that lasts—Jesus Christ.
