The Moody Chorale Co-Leading Worship
The Moody Chorale is the premier choral ensemble of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and one of the most distinguished collegiate choirs in the United States. The Chorale unites 40–50 auditioned singers, embodying a rich musical tradition, artistic excellence, and deep-rooted commitment to worship. On Sunday, May 3, the Moody Chorale will be co-leading both worship services at the Village Church of Northbrook.
For over 80 years, the ensemble has played a significant role in shaping church and choral music, building on the legacy of influential leaders such as Donald Hustad and Gerald Edmonds. Through extensive national and international tours, including performances across Europe, South America, and Asia, the Moody Chorale has established a strong global presence, offering performances that are both musically refined and spiritually impactful. Under the direction of Dr. Yongmin Kim (our Director of Traditional Music), the Chorale continues to expand its reach through diverse repertoire and dynamic ministry opportunities.
On Sunday, May 3, the Moody Chorale will participate in both of our worship services:
9:30 AM Contemporary Service
The Chorale will co-lead worship alongside our praise team band, forming a combined ensemble for a collaborative and vibrant worship experience.
11:00 AM Traditional Service
The Chorale will join our church choir and present more formal and artistically developed choral repertoire within the context of the service.
We believe this will be a meaningful opportunity for our congregation to experience both the collaborative and the more traditional expressions of worship through music.
