We are a multi-generational church in Northbrook, Illinois that is committed to doing God’s work and in joining God’s mission in everyday life throughout our local community and beyond.

Joining God’s Mission in Everyday LifeOur Identity: We are followers of Jesus, who love and serve others and make disciples in our community and around the world.
Our Purpose: We are called to help people take another step closer to Christ by sharing the Good News of Jesus and demonstrating the Kingdom by blessing and caring for others.
Our Approach: We develop a movement of disciples who extend faith, hope, peace, and love in Jesus Christ wherever we are.

Foster Christ-Centered Fellowship: We invite others to experience the love and grace of Christ that deepens relationships and grows community.
Form Believers who Engage with Scripture: We deepen our understanding of the Bible and apply it to our lives.
Empower Lay Ministry: We live out our calling within the body of Christ by using our gifts to serve others.
Practice Evangelism: We are witnesses for Christ, both individually and as a community.
Nurture a Missional Mindset: We are sent out as ambassadors of Christ to demonstrate the Kingdom of God.
Our Story
Small BeginningsFounded in 1892 as The Hope Union Church of Shermerville, our congregation began with a small Sunday School gathering in what is now Northbrook, Illinois. In 1922, we joined the Presbyterian denomination and adopted the name Northbrook Presbyterian Church. With continued growth and a heart for service, our current sanctuary at 1300 Shermer Road was dedicated in 1949, and we became known as The Village Presbyterian Church. From our beginnings to today, we’ve remained committed to nurturing faith in Jesus Christ and serving our community and world with love and purpose.
