Discipleship Retreat Day: United by the Spirit
What does it mean to be United by the Spirit as disciples of Jesus Christ?
Join us for a special Discipleship Retreat Day hosted by the Discipleship Ministries Team—a morning set aside to step away from the busyness of life, reconnect with one another, and grow deeper in our calling to follow Jesus.
We’ll begin with a light breakfast and time for fellowship, followed by worship, prayer, and teaching focused on the Holy Spirit and the six commitments that help shape us as disciples of Christ.
Six Commitments that Shape Us as Disciples of Christ
Throughout the morning, we’ll explore what it looks like to live out these commitments in our everyday lives:
Worship — Disciples engage in personal and public worship regularly and live their lives as an offering to God.
Prayer — Disciples are led by prayer in all situations.
Fellowship — Disciples seek to form Christian community in all aspects of life.
Study — Disciples are guided by Scripture in all things.
Service — Disciples care for and serve others with their time, talents, treasure, and spiritual gifts.
Witness — Disciples join in God’s mission in everyday life and point people to Jesus.
Workshops
The morning will also include two workshop sessions, giving you the opportunity to choose two of three practical workshops:
Centering & Listening Prayer – Learn and practice ways of slowing down, becoming attentive to God, and listening for the Spirit’s leading through prayer.
S.H.A.P.E. — Introduction & Review – Explore how God has uniquely shaped you—your gifts, passions, experiences, and personality—and consider how He might use your SHAPE in His mission.
Writing Your Testimony – Discover how to tell your story of faith in a simple, authentic, and meaningful way that can help point others toward Jesus.
Come ready to worship, listen, learn, practice, and connect. Whether you are just beginning your journey as a disciple or have been following Jesus for many years, this morning is an opportunity for all of us to be renewed in our calling and encouraged by one another.
United by the Spirit. Growing as disciples. Joining God’s mission.
