Trust God Keeps His Word | God Kept His Word
Why This Matters
We live in a world full of broken promises. Over time, disappointment shapes how we trust others. As a result, we often lower our expectations to protect ourselves.
However, Easter confronts that mindset. It asks a bold question: What if God actually keeps His word?
This message is for anyone struggling with doubt, disappointment, or fading trust. It shows how the resurrection restores confidence in God’s promises.
When Expectations Break
The first Easter morning did not begin with confidence. Instead, it began with grief.
The women went to the tomb expecting death, not life. They brought spices, not celebration. In other words, they assumed the story was over.
After all, they had seen Jesus die. Like many of us, they trusted what they saw more than what they had heard.
Yet, everything changed. The stone was rolled away. The tomb was empty. The angels asked, “Why look for the living among the dead?”
At that moment, confusion turned into clarity. They remembered what Jesus had said. And suddenly, hope returned.
God Always Keeps His Promises
Easter is not an isolated event. Instead, it is the fulfillment of a long story.
From the beginning, God made promises. He promised victory over sin in Eden. He promised preservation to Noah. He promised blessing through Abraham. He promised a people through Moses. He promised a King through David.
Even when people failed, God remained faithful.
Then, Jesus came. He spoke of a new covenant. He went to the cross. At first, it looked like failure. However, the resurrection proved otherwise.
The cross was not the end. It was the cost of God’s promise. The empty tomb is the proof that God’s love never fails.
Living Between Good Friday and Easter
Most of life does not feel like Easter morning. Instead, it feels like the space in between.
We live between what we see and what God has said. In that tension, we face a choice. Will we trust our circumstances or God’s promises?
Faith means choosing to trust God’s voice, even when life does not make sense.
Three Ways to Respond
1. Trust His Word
When life feels uncertain, trust what God has said.
When you feel alone, remember God is with you. When you feel inadequate, remember His grace is enough. When facing loss, remember death is not the end.
2. Remember His Promises
Faith grows through remembrance. The women believed when they remembered Jesus’ words.
Therefore, stay rooted in Scripture. Pray regularly. Worship with others. Community strengthens faith.
We do not drift toward faith. Instead, we drift toward forgetfulness. So, we must be intentional.
3. Take Your Next Step
You do not need full clarity to move forward. Peter did not understand everything, yet he ran to the tomb.
In the same way, take one step toward Jesus. Trust Him for the first time. Return after drifting. Or surrender what you have been holding onto.
God meets you as you move toward Him.
Conclusion
The resurrection declares a powerful truth: God keeps His word.
Because of that, we can trust Him today. Not because life is easy, but because Jesus is alive.
So, trust His promises. Remember His faithfulness. Take your next step.
God kept His word then. He will keep it now.
