Village Kids

Rooted in Love, Growing in Faith

We help each child to take their first steps along their life-long journey with Jesus. Village Kids (ages 6 weeks through 5th grade) is a place where children can discover who God is through God’s story found in the Bible, and it’s a place where kids can grow in their relationship with other kids, their leaders, and with God.

Our ministry strategy seeks to align the church and the family, because these two combined influences make a greater impact when they work together! When the local church combines efforts with moms and dads seeking to love and disciple their kids, the result is a stronger, more vibrant impact in the life of a kid.

Kids Ministry is available during our Contemporary worship service for babies through fifth grade. During our Traditional service, our Kids Ministry is only available for babies through four-years old.

We help each one of our 6th - 12th grade youths to know, love, and follow Jesus. We want to be the best neighbors to our Northbrook community. Therefore, we are committed to acts of service here in Northbrook, in the surrounding Chicago area, and around the world.

Being a disciple of Jesus is a life-long endeavor. Our Christian faith shapes our values, influences our relationships, and changes how we live. Each youth is encouraged to discover how they can join God's mission in their everyday life right where they are — at home, at school, and in their community.

Teens need to experience authentic relationships with other disciples their age and with loving Christian mentors. Together we'll have fun, challenge each other, support one another, serve together, and walk through both good times and tough times together.

Sunday Youth Church (SYC)

Each Sunday morning during our Contemporary Worship Service our jr and sr high youths meet in Fellowship Hall for a teen version of Sunday morning church. We call it SYC! We discuss and study the same key sculptures that the adults in the sanctuary do, only with a focus and an application more relevant and useful to teens.

CONFIRMATION (8th Grade)

Confirmation is for any 8th Grader looking to enter the process of confirming their faith in Jesus. Confirmation starts in January and culminates with Confirmation Day in late April each year. This special Sunday involves a public declaration of faith in Jesus, along with a commitment to participate in the life of our church community.

Please email Ed if you have questions!

Adults

Through our adult spiritual growth ministries/opportunities, we seek to develop these three areas of faith:

Knowledge of God

Develop our knowledge of God: who he is, what he is like, what he has done for us, and what he expects from us.

Devotion to God

Develop devotion to God: we should love him, be in communication with him, listen to him, obey him, live like him, and participate in the body of Christ.

Service for God

Encourage service for God: using our spiritual gifts, modeling the life of Christ, serving in the body of Christ, and sharing our faith with those around us.
