The End Is Only the Beginning

Endings often feel final. Graduation, retirement, loss, or grief can leave us wondering what comes next. Yet with Jesus, endings become beginnings.

The disciples felt this tension. They thought the cross was the end. Their teacher was gone, and their hope was buried. But then Jesus appeared.

He stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” At first, they thought He was a ghost, but He showed them His hands and feet.

He even asked for food and ate in front of them. This was no vision. It was flesh and blood, scarred yet alive.

The resurrection proved that death does not win. What looked like the end became the start of God’s greatest story.

Jesus then opened their minds to Scripture. He showed them how the Law, Prophets, and Psalms pointed to His suffering and resurrection.

He also gave them a mission: they were to proclaim forgiveness and repentance in His name to every nation. What began in Jerusalem would reach the world.

The disciples were not called to explain every mystery, they were called to witness. To tell the truth about what they saw and experienced.

We share the same mission. We don’t invent the story, we simply tell how Jesus has changed our lives.

And we do it with joy. The Spirit equips us with boldness and power. What began in fear behind locked doors moved into joyful proclamation.

For us too, the end is only the beginning. Each trial, each loss, or each closed door can lead to a greater story in Christ.

Let us step forward with faith, witness boldly, and trust that Jesus is alive. His story continues through us.
