Who’s in Charge Here?

Scripture: Luke 22:66–71; 23:1–12 | Date: July 13, 2025

Even in suffering, Jesus was never out of control. On trial, mocked and beaten, He made His boldest claim yet: I reign.

Jesus stood before religious leaders, Pilate, and Herod. Everyone questioned His authority, yet Jesus calmly revealed His true identity—the Son of Man.

He declared, “From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of God.” His reign had already begun.

This wasn't a political victory. It was divine authority. Jesus claimed His eternal throne even as His enemies plotted His death.

Therefore, we are called to respond. First, make Jesus your Lord. Let Him lead every part of your life—your heart, habits, and hopes.

Second, trust Him to set things right. Life can feel unfair or chaotic, but Jesus reigns. His justice will prevail in the end.

Third, persevere through trials. Jesus faced betrayal and death. He endured because He had hope—and so can we.

We don’t suffer alone. Jesus reigns today, and He gave us community. We walk through darkness together, as His body, the Church.

Because Jesus reigns, you are never without help. Never without hope. Never without purpose.

So when life feels overwhelming, ask yourself, Who’s in charge here? The answer is always Jesus.
