Finding the Lost
Scripture: Luke 15 | Date: Pentecost Sunday
Pentecost marks the birth of the church. God sent His Spirit to empower believers for mission—to seek and save the lost.
Just like Jesus was sent, the church is sent. We are not meant to stay still. We are called to go.
Jesus didn’t just teach from a distance. He entered homes, shared meals, and built relationships with people others avoided.
His love drew near to the broken, the corrupt, and the outcast. Why? Because the lost matter to God.
Through parables like the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost sons, Jesus shows God’s heart. He never gives up.
Even when we walk away, God watches and waits. He rejoices when we turn back and repent.
Repentance means turning around. It means moving from selfish ways to God's better way. It's not about shame. It's about change.
Whether you relate to the rebellious younger son or the self-righteous older one, both are lost. Both need grace.
You can’t earn God's love. You can only receive it. This is the good news of the gospel.
Jesus paid the price for our sin. He invites us to come home, no matter how far we've gone.
God’s love is extravagant, persistent, and personal. He chases after you and He celebrates when you're found.
Will you come home?
